LIM HENG LIN CONFERRED AMP BY SULTAN OF PAHANG Wednesday 24/10/2001 KUALA LUMPUR, October 24 - MCA Bandar Tun Razak Divisional Secretary Lim HengLin has been conferred the title of Ahli Mahkota Pahang (AMP) in conjunction with 71st birthday of the Sultan of Pahang today. Lim graduated from Universiti Putra Malaysia with a science degree (honours) in Agribusiness and was active in both the academic and co-curricular activities. For a few terms, he held the presidency of the Shito-Ryu Karate-Do Society of UPM during the 80's. He is sincere, vocal, active in social work and very concerned about the development of our beloved country i.e. Malaysia. Presently, he is the Managing Director of Kotabato Corporation (M) S/B, a company involved in supplying and blending industrial and food chemicals including additives, bakery ingredients, seafood and meat treatment, supplement and value-added products as well as blending products for various industries. He was invited by UKM and MARDI to deliver talks in their seminars. Besides, he helped PUNB during the entrepreneurship colloquium where 10 prominent Chinese entrepreneurs were sharing their successful experience with their Malay counterparts. Lim is a friendly person dedicated to social work, concerned and helps people to solve problems faced by them and actively offers his contribution to MCA, NGOs and the nation. He is now holding the positions of MCA chief of Taman Bukit Cheras, MCA Divisional Secretary cum political bureau chief of Bandar Tun Razak, BN deputy secretary of Bandar Tun Razak, Director of Service Center of Energy, Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister cum MP of Bandar Tun Razak, Deputy Publicity Chairman cum Action Task Force member of MCA Federal Territory, Central delegate to MCA National General Assembly, Deputy Secretary of KL Southern Region Chinese School Development Committee, Committee member of SJK (c) Taman Connaught 2 Building Committee, Deputy Secretary-General of Malaysian Hainanese Lim Association, Secretary-General of Federation of Lim Association Malaysia Youth Section, KL & Selangor Hainanese Lim Association Committee Member etc. He was the pioneer and vice chairman of Rukun Tetangga Taman Bukit Cheras, Vice Chairman cum Treasurer of General Election Committee MCA Sungai Besi Division, Secretary of Malaysian Hainanese Graduates and Professionals Guild, Committee Member of PTA SJK (c) Taman Connaught, Chairman of MCA General Election Working Committee Bandar Tun Razak constituent etc. He was involved in the 10th general election to help in defending the parliamentary seat of BN incumbent Datuk Tan Chai Ho against the BA strongman Dr. Chandra Muzaffar, the former deputy president of Parti Keadilan. During the election campaign, Lim successfully organised within three days two grand dinners attended by thousands of voters. The Chief Justice of the Federal Court appointed Lim as a commissioner for oaths. He is also helping the courts in the country as a freelance interpreter for seven (7) languages and dialects namely Malay, English, Chinese, Hananese, Teochew, Hokkien and Cantonese. It is appropriate at this time that Lim is being awarded the AMP for his contribution to the community, country and the nation.
